                (Descriptive Type Questions)

1. Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:

Tea was first grown and used in China. It was first used as medicine, and then became a very popular drink. It is now largely grown in India and Ceylon. The habit of drinking tea has now spread all over the world. It is perhaps the most popular of drinks. People find it very refreshing after hard work. And it is practically harmless. That is the reason why it is very popular. It is taken in many ways. Usually some leaves are put in boiling water, which is then strained and taken with a little sugar and milk. Some boil the leaves in milk with sugar and even spices. Another way is to take it with sugar and lemon juice.

Questions:

(i) Where is tea now largely grown?

Ans: Now tea is largely grown in India and Ceylon.

(ii) Why is it a popular drink?

Ans: Tea is the most popular drink because people find it very refreshing after hard work. It is harmless also.

(iii) What are some of the ways of taking tea?

Ans: Tea is taken in many ways. Some boil the leaves in milk with sugar. Some take it with sugar and lemon juice, some put it in boiling water and take it with little sugar and milk.

(iv) Where is tea drunk today?

Ans: Tea is drunk all over the world.

2. Read the following passage and answer the question that follow:

If you wish to be a writer, you must learn to develop your own point of view. All good writers make us see things in a different light. You may be writing about the same things as your classmate, but your presentation must reflect your same things as your classmate, but your presentation must reflect your personality and individuality. There are so many interesting subjects you can write about in different forms. There is a good market for short stories – like humorous stories, domestic stories, adventure stories and mystery stories. Try make your story interesting

(i) What do we have to do to become a writer?

Ans: To become a writer we must develop our own point of view.

(ii) How can you be different from your classmate in writing?

Ans: Presentation of subject can differenciate from our classmate writing.

(iii) What do good writers do?

Ans: All good writers make use the feeling in different light.

(iv) What are the differnt types of short stories?

Ans: There are different types of short stories like homorous stories, domestic stories, adventure stories and mystery stories.

3. Read the poem carefully and answer the questions that follow: Behold her, single in the field,

                Yon solitary Highland Lass!

                Reaping and singing by herself;

                Stop here, or gently pass!

                Alone she cuts and binding grain,

                And sings a melancholy strain;

                O listen!  for the Vale profound

                Is overflowing with the sound.

Questions:

4. Answer any five of the following questions:

(a) Was Gillu in a miserable condition when the author found him? What did she do?

Ans: Yes, Gillu was in miserable condition when the author found it in bis the gap at the Junction of the pot with the wall. The author gently lifted the wounded squirrel and brought to her room. There she wiped blood from its woundes with cotten, wool and applied pencillin ointement.

(b) How do modern appliances affect ecology?

Ans: Modern appliances has badly affected ecology. For example women use too many electric things. For the use of such modern appliances exhaust the source of energy which is bad for ecology.

(d) What are the main features of Indian culture?

Ans: The underlying unit of spirit informing Indian culture through out the ages is the most dominent influence of Indian culture.

(e) Why is the nightingale mute and dumb in big cities?

Ans: The nightingale is mute and dump is big cities due to peaceless invironement.

(f) What does Radha’s friend believe in?

Ans: Radha’s friend believes in Rudha’s Joy again.

5. Write a paragraph on any one of the following in about 60-70 words: 5

(iii) My Ideal Teacher              

(iv) Honesty is the best policy

Ans: (i) Covid 19 and its impact- The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, which originated in the city of Wuhan, China, has quickly spread to various countries, with many cases having been reported worldwide. As of May 8th, 2020, In India, 56,342 positive cases have been reported. India, with a population of more than 1.34 billion – the second largest population in the world – will have difficulty in controlling the transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 among its population. Multiple strategies would be highly necessary to handle the current outbreak; these include computational modeling, statistical tools, and quantitative analyses to control the spread as well baftil as the rapid development of a new treatment. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India has raised awareness about the recent outbreak and has taken necessary actions to control the spread of COVID-19.

The whole Darbhanga District is badly affected by the flood of Kosi and Kamala rivers. Water entered in many houses. Sixteen children were reported drowned in the flood. Many people shifted on the roof of their houses with make shift tents. A few social worker pitched tents of raised place shifted affected families there and provided them food and other needs.
